KOOL BLUE™

Kool in summer… warm in winter. Our Kool Blue roofing glass is more
than just a glass roof. This highly reflective glass is perfect for the
conservatory roof market.

Two versions are available each with high levels of insulation:

Kool Blue and Quality Assurance

KOOL BLUE high performance double glazed units are manufactured using the latest technology in glass processing under our kite mark licence KM23287 BS EN 1279-2:2002 (formerly BS5713) and quality systems ISO 9001:2000

The double glazed units are of dual seal construction with continuous spacer bar and pre-formed corners. The result is reduced water vapour transmission, greater depth of perimeter sealant to corners and a mechanically stronger unit. As such all units carry our manufacturers realistic 10 year warranty

The inner and outer panels of KOOL BLUE units are fully toughened to BS 6206 1981 class A, to a maximum length of 3000mm in one piece, eliminating the need for joining bars in most applications. KOOL BLUE double glazed units are fully compliant with building regulations parts L and N and are technically so advanced as to meet future initiatives to enhance energy efficiency within homes and conservatories.

Kool Blue Value For Money

Our price strategy is the same as for standard double glazed units – one rate per m² for rectangles with a proportionally increased rate per m² for shapes. No matrix type pricing or hidden extras

PILKINGTON ACTIV SELF-CLEANING

The special coating on this glass means that frequently cleaning your windows is no longer necessary. Pilkington Activ is clearer than ordinary float glass during and after rainfall as the rainwater simply disperses when it hits the glass. The hydrophilic coating breaks down and loosens the dirt which allows it to be washed away by rainwater or a hosepipe during drier periods.

PILKINGTON ACTIV BLUE

This solar-control self-cleaning glass is ideal for roof units. It uses the same dual-action self cleaning properties as Pilkington Activ but also benefits from a blue tint helping to keep internal temperatures cool while not effecting light transmission. This makes it perfect for those hard to reach conservatory roofs. The glass uses daylight and rainwater to break down and wash away dirt from the exterior of the glass. During dry spells the glass can be easily cleaned by hosing it down.

PILKINGTON ACTIV NEUTRAL SOLAR CONTROL

This glass works in the same way as Pilkington Activ Blue except it is made up of attractive neutral coloured glass. The Neutral appearance in transmission and reflection make it ideal for both conservatory roofs and the vertical conservatory walls.
