Leading is the application of an adhesive lead strip to the glass, which is done entirely by hand in the studio.
The Leadwork can be produced to your own layout, or it can follow some of the more traditional patterns such as Diamonds, Rectangles or Queen Anne etc.
Planning of bespoke designs is dependent on the window size and proposed layout.
Our craftsmen can work with a variety of lead from 4.5mm to 18mm, all of which are available in silver, antique, white or gold finishes. We can also produce soldered or aged for an authentic look which may be more in keeping with certain properties. The designs range from the most traditional to modern and the simplest of lines to the most complex.
As with any of our studio products, they can be combined. For example,Leadworks can be combined with Colour Film for a stained glass effect.
